A dynamic code does not carry your content. It carries a short address that belongs to you, and we decide what to serve when somebody visits it. That one indirection is what makes everything else possible.
How a dynamic code actually works
The printed pattern holds one short address and nothing else. It stays the same forever, which is what makes it safe to print at scale.
When somebody scans, the request reaches us, we record the scan, and we send them wherever the code is currently set to go. Change that setting and the next scan goes somewhere else.

This is the reason most people choose dynamic. A thousand printed flyers stop being a commitment. Point them at a new page next month and the flyers are still working.
It also means a mistake is recoverable. A wrong price or a broken link is a two minute fix rather than a reprint.

Serve different things at different times
A dynamic code can follow rules. Breakfast until eleven, lunch until five, dinner after that, on the days you choose. You set it once and it runs itself.
The clock it follows is the business timezone you set, not the visitor's phone, so someone scanning while travelling still gets what you are actually serving. Any gap falls back to a page you nominate, so nobody ever lands on nothing.

What you should know before choosing it
A dynamic code depends on the short link continuing to resolve. That is a real dependency and it is worth being clear eyed about it, in the same way any hosted service is a dependency.
The person scanning also needs a connection, which rules it out for the one case static is built for. A Wi-Fi code cannot be dynamic, because they have no internet yet. That is the whole reason they are scanning.
